WordPress and my plugins

We can easily say that WordPress is one of the best free blog publishing platforms, and of course WordPress is the engine that moves Zelig Planet too.

One of the many great WP features is the way you can expand it using plugins, that are small pieces of software (well, sometimes non so small…) that add additional functionality to the base package or enhance already available features.
A nice place to start looking for plugins, easily sorted by category, is the WordPress Plugins Database.

I’ve created some plugins too. This is a complete summary of them:

Zelig Dropdown Cats 1.4

Displays the categories in the sidebar as a simple dropdown list (select box). Unlike the WP built-in dropdown_cats function, it gives the option to exclude some categories from the list.

Zelig Performancing 1.11

Automatically adds in the blog’s pages the script required for the statistics service provided by Performancing.com (no more available at present…). The code added from this plugin offers also some improvements over the original one.

Zelig Dropdown Links 1.2

Displays the links in the sidebar as a simple dropdown list (select box). If you have more link categories, every one will be shown in it’s own list (and you can exclude some of them too).

Zelig Show Plugins 1.2

Allows to create a Wordpress page where to show a list of all the active plugins of your web site. In this page, for example, you can see those I’m using on Zelig Planet.

Zelig Dropdown Pages 1.1

This plugin shows the pages links in the sidebar as a simple - and small - dropdown list (select box).
